Buds recall is 50/50 - if he is with another dog - no problem at all - comes when called - if he’s on his own - and see another dog - recall is a hit or a miss

More training in this department would benefit Bud and his new owners

His owners use a gencon lead - as he may pull on the odd occasion

Whilst out on his walks Bud likes to interact with other dogs and play,he may bark in excitement,or even try to jump up to play

General Information

Bud is a delightful gentle giant of a boy , can be boisterous , excitable, loving, friendly and sensitive

Never shown any aggressive behaviour and has never bitten

His general obedience is not too bad - tends to have selective hearing when he’s excited though

Bud is fairly well socialised but would benefit with more socialising in his new home, perhaps even joining a training class or two.(This is a great bonding experience)

Diet consists of :- James well beloved - fish and rice, no grain. He gets a topper as well. A wet gravy meat pouch or fish. Tuna in sun flower oil / mackerel/ sardines normal or tomato. Two heaped scoops of kibble plus topper, twice a day

Treats :- Anything. Very treat motivated (great he is a foodie ,ideal for more training)Enjoys a pigs ear - loves chicken and a packet of ham.

Bud is toilet trained,we do state on all our adverts that any dog might mark entering a new home

Bud sleeps in his bed downstairs at night (with any new rescue we do state might be a good idea to sleep by them the first few nights to settle them in)

He can be left a few hours a day ,we suggest at first no longer than a hour and then built it up to two hours. No dogs should be left long periods of time, they are social creatures

He has never been destructive in his home

Not crate trained

Travels well in the car,he sits in the boot

Bud is a sensitive gentlemen, does not like to be told off ,looks sad if he has done something he shouldn’t have

Loves the water ,a water baby

His favourite things :- Loves tug of war, will play fetch, enjoys brain stimulation games

Bud needs someone who is gentle but consistent,a family who is outdoors a lot with the time to put in some training.Preferably another dog who can manage a bit of a bossy fella at times - although he is very friendly - he can sometimes be abit of a pest ,and not leave the other dog alone and wants to play constantly so perhaps another dog that matches his energy. He loves his luxuries- on the sofa, needs to be touching you- will sleep on your feet if needs be, he’s an absolute chancer - give him an inch - he will take a mile. He will make sure he’s not getting any of your food before eating his own - As mentioned above - he is lovely but needs someone with previous dog experience who is gentle but with a kind firm manner ,as he’s a big boy and doesn’t know his size or strength

All potential applicants will be requested to have a full vetting and a full home-check

An adoption fee of £300 is requested, this goes back into the charity

If you live in rented accommodation we will require documentation that a dog can live in your property
