Cosmo is a girl who loves everything and everyone we are told

Location Southampton in Hampshire ,Post Code Area SO18.

We will require the potential applicant to carry out several meet and greets.

Cosmo is a beautiful girl,her owners are devastated that they have had to come to a heartbreaking decision to find her another home.

Work commitments out of their control ,have meant Cosmo will be left longer periods of time alone ,and she can’t cope with this.

Cosmo suffers with separation anxiety ,and because of work commitments,she just cannot be left.

With a heavy heart her family have contacted us ,to find her the best possible solution and as quickly as we can.

Obviously the home has to be right for Cosmo ,as she is the most important one in this scenario.

We are looking for a home where person or persons,will carry on managing Cosmo’s anxiety of being left alone.

In the right home with the right people to guide her,in time this can be managed and her fear will become less,but it will not be over night.

Time,patience and careful preparation is the key.

No full time workers ,unless you work from home and can give Cosmo the attention and care she deserves.

Cosmo is a young active dog and would a suit an active family or people ,who enjoy the great outdoors

Can live with ONE other dog

Will rehome her with children 8 plus ( Cosmo can jump up in excitement ,so please take this into consideration )

No cats

Your garden must be fully secure,if you have gates they must have a lock

If you have any holidays planned or planning any in the future,please declare this on your application form

Health :- Cosmo has had a couple of ear infections in the past, owners keep on top of it with epi-otic ear cleaner

Possible allergic reactions :- best to avoid the following

Possibly lamb, owners believe it made her sick.

Also they use hypoallergenic dog shampoo and no dog fragrance at the groomer as it irritates skin/ eyes/ ears.

Grooming Requirements

Cosmo has a lovely curly soft coat ,sheds minimally,all dogs shed some amount.

Her owners take great care in brushing her every few days,as they know how important coat care is with doodles.

If left doodles coats can matt,so please continue with this process.

She may think brushing is a bit of a game sometimes,but with treats she will settle.

Cosmo attends a Professional Groomers every 7 weeks

Exercise

Cosmo loves going for her walks,and is exercised for around an hour daily

But she is happy to do more,or even less exercise

Her recall is selective and could do with more training going forward,easily distracted by other dogs.

Cosmo enjoys being around other dogs,and likes her playtime

We do not advise her new owners to allow any off lead time,unless you have full control of her recall.

A good suggestion would be to hire a dog friendly paddock ,to do something recall training.

Cosmo sometimes pulls on her lead,this is if there’s something exciting going on,always good to practice loose lead training with any dog.

General Information

Cosmo is truly a wonderful girl,can be excitable,can jump up when greeting people coming into her home.

Never shown an aggressive side to her,never bitten or shown her gnashers to anyone.

Cosmo loves attention,loves to be loved by everyone

Cosmo is toilet trained ,she will tap the back door to go out, or bark once to ask. As long as she is let out for a wee before bed she will not need to go until the morning.

She sleeps downstairs in the hallway at present.

We do advise once in her new home that she may need her new people with her at night to settle her.

Cosmo cannot be left alone as stated above she has separation anxiety,her owners have been working on this with the support of a dog trainer

She is not crate trained,never liked the crate as a puppy. We do not advise using a crate

Cosmo travels in the boot of the family car,she can get excited

Never been interested in the water

Dislikes :- not a fan of the vacuum cleaner but will tolerate it,fear of fireworks

Likes :- To play fetch , dog puzzles to find the treats

Cosmo is such a loving dog, who needs a family who can give her more time and energy and training than her family can give her.They will miss her terribly but feel re homing is in her best interest so she can live her best life. She has so much to give.

If you live in rented accommodation we will require documentation that a dog can live in this property

The adoption fee for Cosmo is £280.00 this goes back into the charity
