Max is looking for a foster with a view to adopt ,as his owners are finding it difficult to manage him.

He is a very independent dog,who his owners feel he just does not cooperate with them fully,he will resource guard items and this is difficult with two young children in the household.

Being first time dog owners ,and dealing with new situations with Max,and young children ,this can be overwhelming for them.

His owners feel he would be best suited in either a child free home or with much older dog savvy children.

Or an adult home only.

It’s really hard for the family as they love him so much ,especially one of the children.

But as a responsible family they are worried with the resource guarding .

At present Max has given warning growls ,showed teeth, and went to snap ,due to resource guarding an item they tried to take away from him.

We are looking for experienced dog owners whom are happy to support Max through his issue.

Doodle Aid is very happy to put support in place with dog trainer/behaviourist as when required.

The fosters must be happy to work along side them and to support Max on his journey.

Doodle Aid will request Max to have a full vet check ,after settling into the foster home.

We are happy to supply a professional groomer when needed.

All expenses will be covered by the charity but you must contact us firstly.

Can live with another calm, well adjusted older dog

We will consider rehoming with older children who are dog savvy, aged 13 plus.

Or just an adult home.

No cats

Garden has to be totally secure ,and locks on gates

If you have any day trips planned or holidays please state on your application form.
