Mr R can pull on his lead occasionally, would benefit with some loose lead training put into place.
General Information
Mr R is your typical fun loving, goofball of a doodle,he is bouncy, loves his cuddles, does love attention if he does not get the attention ,he gets frustrated ,likes to be trained which is a bonus, when over excited he likes to do zoomies.
When Mr R was a small puppy, he tended to mouth quite a lot, when frustrated he will still do this from time to time.
He attended puppy training classes and advanced puppy trading classes.
Mr R is toilet trained, but as with any rescue dog coming into a new home please expect the unexpected.
He sleeps in the kitchen in his crate, but the door is left open.
Mr R likes to have access to his crate ,and takes his chew in there with him.
Mr R has be known to chew the childrens hard plastic toys, but has never chewed any furniture in the home.
Can only be left for short periods of time, maximum 60 minutes (this again is something that can easily be worked on in time)
Travels well in the car we suggest in a car harness or behind a dog guard.
Dislikes Thunder
He likes water and in the past attended hydrotherapy
Likes to play hide his kong ,and really enjoys one to one training.
We are looking for a home with persons willing to help guide this fabulous boy.
He craves attention and if he does not get it he gets frustrated, will bark until you give into him.
Moving Mr R out of his current environment may even improve this behaviour.
This is something that needs addressing,Doodle Aid is always happy to find a highly qualified dog behaviourist to give the fosters support if required.
He has not been left for long periods of time ,the most around a hour ,so this is something that needs considering before you apply to foster.
This boy is highly intelligent, willing to learn, loves to be stimulated but he will also need to learn to have some rest time.
This is something he maybe lacking in ,where he gets so aroused at times ,does not know when to chill and relax.
A nice calm home with calm people may make a lot of difference, this will not be instant as all rescue dogs need time to settle.
His owners love him dearly and have not come to this decision rapidly,it has not been easy for any of them.
Working from home with a gorgeous puppy, that wants your full attention I can imagine is not easy.
As stated above he will bark, and if you are trying to work ,take calls or zoom meetings etc, this can become a major issue.
They have had him checked over by their vets fully to see if there’s any pain issues or anything they may of missed.
They have also been working with a dog trainer and a behaviourist.
With a busy household, the adults trying to work, two small children it has become all too much, and his owners feel he would benefit in being in a different environment.
Doodle Aid would like to find a match with an older calmer dog,of similar size ,female must be spayed.
This would take several visits to make sure the dogs will respond well with each other.
Because of this puppy mouthing ,we will only place him in a home with respectful children who are dog savvy, over the age of 12.
Never lived with a cat ,so we cannot comment on how he would receive a cat
Must have a safe secure garden not communal
If you have any day trips planned, weekends away or any hoildays please state on your application form.
Doodle Aid will supply the support a foster requires, but you need to communicate with us so we can help.
Vets, groomers, food, dog trainers can all be supplied by us,all we ask is for you to give this boy the chance he so deserves.
We are sure in the right home, with the right people, with a doggy companion he will become a less frustrated boy as he reaches adulthood.
A foster or fosters will gain the benefit of seeing this puppy become a great dog, with guidance and team work going forward but they will need to be committed to helping him.
If you live in rented accommodation ,we will require written proof that a dog can live in your accommodation.
Doodle Aid volunteers give their time for free, if you send an email they may not respond that day.
Once you see applications closed, everyone will be contacted in due course, please be patient with us.
Thank you
