Goodwoof 2023 : DoodleAid
Wow what a wonderful weekend we had at Goodwoof in May 2023. We didn’t need our wellies as the weather was excellent and the sun shone throughout the 2 day event. Four of the Trustees, being Caroline, Rob, Karen and Louise along with Paul and David turned up on Friday to set up the stand. On the Saturday and Sunday it was an early start for us all and it was only come Sunday night that we realised how exhausted we all were. We had lots of goodies to sell including t-shirts, hoodies, teddies, key rings, cards and first aid kits to name just a few items all of which can be found in our on line shop.
This was the second year that Goodwoof had taken place and the weekend featured dogs of all shape and sizes including lots of Doodles who visited our stand, their owners purchased some DoodleAid items and if they were really good the dogs received a gravy bone or two. We were so pleased to see so many people visit our stand both some familiar faces such as Roma who was successfully rehomed with the aid of DoodleAid last year, but we also met lots of new faces some of whom are now following us on facebook.
Goodwoof attracted a few famous faces such as Clare Balding, James Middleton, Bill Bailey and Peter Crouch to name just a few. Clare Balding spent quite a lot of time on our stand talking to Caroline at length regarding our charity and showed a real interest and understanding in what we do. We also managed to have a chat with James Middleton whilst he was riding his bike.
The two day event was packed with so much to do including dog tarot card reading, an agility course, Ministry of Sound dog disco led by Curtis Prichard from Love Island, dog yoga and Pilates as well as a variety of talks on doggy care on the wellness stage.
Teddy a Doodleaid Labradoodle entered Chien Charmant with his Dad David and won the Union category for best human and dog pairing, winning lots of Hermes goodies including a brand new Frizbee and some doggie shampoo. When Teddy was advertised by DoodleAid back in August 2021 his advert said that he was afraid of all men so to win the Union category made it even more special.
