Elijah you truly are an inspiration!
Thank you so very very much to you for raising this super amount for all the doodles that need that bit extra help.
We here at Team Doodle Aid are super proud of you Elijah
Thank you to Mum Lucy and everyone that supported Elijah.
Here is an update from Elijah and his Mum Lucy…
Hi,
In an attempt to combat lockdown blues my son set himself a personal goal and decided he wanted to walk 128 miles in the lockdown days from 4th Jan until 12th Feb. Why 128? Apparently because this was two of my longest ultra marathons I had ever ran and he wished to achieve the same back to back. He sat down, worked out his plan and calculated how many miles he would need to walk everyday - approximately 3.39. And this is what he has been doing. On his final day, his total mileage came in at 128.12!!
Naturally, there were set backs, with illness (me!) aches and pains (him!) but he has got up every single day, sometimes very early, got out there and walked (Occasionally cycled to rest his legs) in every type of weather - the mud (which he loves) has been relentless.
Not once has he moaned, not once has he complained. To say I’m proud of him, is an understatement.
Additionally, unbeknown to him (at the beginning) we, along with other family members have matched the number of miles to pounds and we are donating £328 to his chosen charity - as he loves dogs, he’s decided to donate the money to DoodleAid - a charity close to our hearts . We have two Sproodles.
Hope this helps with all the wonderful work you do.
Many thanks
Lucy & Elijah
