Poppy is looking for her forever home ,due to personal circumstance within her family.

She is very much loved and cared for,but her owner needs to put Poppy’s needs before their own.

Doodle Aid’s criteria for Poppy is as follows :-

Most important person or persons must be at home with Poppy ,as she is still only a puppy.

We will not accept any full time workers,or her attending doggy day care ,or her being past around to friends and family.

She needs support from her new owners.

Poppy has attended puppy training classes,we would like her new owners to carry on with her day to day training.

Your garden MUST be puppy proof ,no gaps in for her to escape ,fences/walls to be at least 5 foot.If you have hedges these need to have secure fences behind them.

All gates should have a secure lock or padlock.

If you have any pre booked days out or holidays planned please submit this information on your application form.

Absolutely NO SHOWBOATING Poppy ,in the first few weeks.

She needs to settle in your home with people that live in the household.

No bringing lots of visitors in,or taking her out and about until she is settled with you firstly.

This is very important for her well-being ,to start her future in her new home with new people.

Poppy can live with “ONE” other dog,who needs to be calm ,with no behaviour issues.

If your dog is “MALE “ Doodle Aid will need acknowledgment from your vet that he has been neutered.

DO NOT APPLY IF YOUR DOG IS NOT NEUTERED !

Grooming Requirements

Poppy has a curly coat, sheds minimally as all dogs shed some amount

She gets brushed daily, not overly keen but this will come in time ,with support of a few tasty treats.

Poppy has attended a Professional Groomers twice, for a puppy groom which is excellent ,as it gets her used to the grooming environment.

We would suggest a professional groomer every every 6 to 8 weeks going forward.

If her new owners need any advice on grooming ,or finding a good groomer do ask us here at Doodle Aid,always happy to give our support.

Exercise

Poppy is still only a puppy and should not be over exercised, this is most important for her growing bones.

Absolutely no forced exercise like jogging ,no using a ball thrower as this all could damaged a growing puppies bones.

Shorter walks of around 20 minutes 2 to 3 times a day would suit Poppy at her age at present.

Plus some non forced playtime in the garden.

As Poppy is still only a puppy her recall will need some working on ,in a safe and secure area.

Because she does not know her new owners we would suggest hiring private dog paddock at first to work on her recall ,until she gets to know you.

Please do not let her off lead until you have complete trust in one another.

Poppy may pull on her lead if she gets over excited ,some loose lead training should be put into place.

Her general obedience is good ,will become better with more training.

Interacts with other dogs well, but do watch other dogs around Poppy, as not all dogs are tolerant around other dogs and puppies.

General information

Poppy is still only a puppy ,still exploring the big wide world around her.

Her new owners will have to be kind, patient and loving and be prepared to give Poppy all the time she needs to become into a well rounded adult dog.

Poppy still has some puppy teeth,so may still mouth on occasions.

She is your typical energetic, active, lively, fun loving, affectionate puppy.

Poppy dislikes being on her own ,loves human company.

This is something that will come with time if you work on leaving her for short periods.

She will eventually settle down if left a short while.

Poppy sleeps in the kitchen at night in her crate ,the crate door is left open for her to gain access.

Her crate is also inside a playpen so lots of room.

The first few nights you may need to sleep next to her in another room, just to give her some security to start with.

She is 90% toilet trained will go to the toilet out in the garden and on her walks.

At night she has the use of a puppy pad if needed.

Never been destructive in her home

She loves any toys and someone to play games with her

Poppy is a complete joy and will make her new owners very happy.
